Business continuity planning is all well and good, but when managing risk fails and disaster strikes, success depends on being able to execute and communicate around the plan.
A disaster recovery plan should have the power to get the correct information to the right people quickly and effectively. To best prepare for managing high risk situations, which are often fast-paced and potentially volatile, it is very important to determine which communication channels (e.g., mobile phones, landlines, SMS/text messaging, email, etc.) are appropriate to target during an incident.
Today’s cartoon stresses the importance of having a reliable and squirrel-proof way of communicating in a crisis.
